The Bible

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The word of God is our standard in all that we say and do in worship, and in all matters of life (2 Peter 1:3).

The word of God is powerful (Hebrews 4:12)

The scriptures are “able to save” us (James 1:21).

The same word of God that saved sinners two-thousand years ago, is the same truth that sets us free today (John 8:32; Acts 2:37, 38).

Worship

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

Our worship is God-centered and not human-centered.

We partake in the same acts of worship as did the Christians in the New Testament:

  • We pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

  • We sing (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

  • We give (1 Corinthians 16:1, 2)

  • We partake of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7)

  • We listen to the preaching of the word of God (Acts 2:42)

God’s Plan of Salvation

Humanity’s sin has caused him to be lost, separated from God (Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23). However, God demonstrated His love toward us by sending His only begotten Son to redeem us from sin (Romans 5:8; John 3:16).

God’s plan for redeeming humanity is extraordinary and yet quite simple:

  • God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8)

  • Man’s hearing the gospel (Romans 10:17)

  • Man’s belief in Jesus as God’s Son (John 8:24)

  • Man’s repentance of sins (Acts 17:30)

  • Man’s confessing Christ (Matthew 10:32)

  • Man’s baptism into water for the remission of sin/to be saved (Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21)

  • Man’s faithfulness (1 Corinthians 15:58)
